Easy Podcasting for the Language Classroom

Podcasts can be downloaded and listened to on an mp3 player or computer, offering language teachers and students possibilities for extra listening activities both inside and outside of the classroom. Participants examine existing podcasts, how to find them and integrate them into teaching and learning situations, as well as the basics of creating podcasts that empowers students by creating their own content for an audience in the class and around the world.

A blog is an online journal that incorporates text, images, audio, video, etc. Blogging is a motivational tool that lowers student affective filters, allows for purposeful and creative language development that extends beyond the classroom, and creates a comfortable bridge to other kinds of writing. This hands-on workshop will introduce educators to methods of creating, implementing, and managing blogs and related Web 2.0 tools in the language classroom, giving students a worldwide audience for their work.
